Suggestions on Dating and Social Interaction in Games

During my gameplay of Stardew Valley, I’ve noticed a phenomenon: when I want to make friends or get married in the game, I have to take the initiative to give gifts to NPCs to increase our friendship level. Why can’t there be a mechanism where random NPCs come to interact with me actively?
For example, when I participate in a series of festival competitions, my consistent outstanding performance could trigger a personal charm value system (assuming the game had such a mechanic). The more competitions I join and the better I perform, the more likely I would catch the attention of one or more random NPCs. This would greatly enhance the game’s playability, as it would simulate more natural social interactions—players would no longer be stuck in a passive position when it comes to in-game socialization.
