Hi all!

I've been playing Stardew for a long time, but I'm new to the forums. I think I also probably played HM:FoTM almost as much as Concerned Ape must have before creating this game!

Heart Quests

I'd like to see community development or personal quests open for each villager at 10 hearts.
Penny, Jaz, and Vincent: the player might have the option of building a school for the kids (and your kids!) to go to. Alex could teach PE, Robin could teach shop, Demetrius could teach biology, Sebastian could teach computer science, Marlon could teach history, and so on.
Maru or the Wizard: you could help fund the development of a universal teleportation device (either scientific or magical) that allows you to transport yourself anywhere in Stardew Valley.
Demetrius,: you could fund a new scientific experiment with a chance of more profitable crops...or disastrous ones.
Willy: buy him a boat so he could take you to islands and new fishing locales, or you might even open up a ferry service that allows new people to come and go.
Eliot: Fund his book, get royalties.
Emily: Buy her a storefront (on new land, possibly in between Joja and the Quarry or to the West of Cindersap Forest where the dance takes place) for her brand new clothing boutique. Of course, you get a cut of the profits! Either Shane could take her place as the bartender, giving him a sense of purpose and hopefully helping with his depression.
Kent and Jodi: Pay for a therapist to come to Pelican Town to help with his PTSD. This could also be an option for Shane as well.
Gus: Get the Saloon out of debt and help him build a new kitchen to create new recipes with rare ingredients.
Pierre and Caroline: Help fund the growth of different types of tea/coffee plants, and get the occasional set of seeds as a reward.
Harvey: Better medical equipment that allows for less damage when in mines and/or faster recovery or the ability to die in the mines without losing progress.
Marnie: New and exotic animals
All villagers, year 10+, married with children: Lewis decides to retire with Marnie. The community votes you to be the new Mayor.

New Story Quests
Family Ties : We know Grandpa stayed on the farm, and there's that secret note with the little kid and the woman, presumably your Mom. But we don't know why your family left Pelican Town. While building on your farm, Robin finds an old box buried, but she can't find the key. The family key is found with the hoe, and you have to bring it to Marlon who realizes that it goes in a type of lock that was used commonly 30 years ago. In that box, you find a diary that tells your family's story.
What about Grandma?: We don't know anything about her!
The Witch's Side: We know that the Wizard and the Witch got a divorce because he made a big mistake. But what did the witch have to say about it. Can you help her to overcome her anger so she can help you on your farm?

What do you guys think?

More lore is always nice! I like the heart event ideas, some of them could also just be normal cutscenes that are played when you achieve something else!

I think the family history is kept vague on purpose, just so any player can identify with the farmer and interpret them however they want. I remember CA saying something like that about your kids (and their lack of personality).

I like the idea of more events in general, although paying for some one else to have therapy feels a bit condescending. I also don't like paying for Pam's house for that reason...

Instead of downright paying for Emily to have a shop, how about she asks for certain materials she needs? Wool, colored items for dye, wood or other building materials...

The specifics are really more of examples than anything. I was just trying to think of storylines that would fit in with the characters that we already have. It actually occurred to me last night that the Community Center could be made into the new school for the town. I think that having the player get materials (rather than just money) is a great idea that fits in with the rest of the game as well!
