Stuck at Ginger Island

I am unable to do anything here. There are two turtles blocking access north and west. I can go east and this leads to a staircase which leads to a parrot who squawks for a walnut. There appears to be a walnut on the top of a little bush before going up the stairs but I am unable to interact with it or knock it off of the bush with any of my tools.

Any help on what I am overlooking would be appreciated. :)

You don't need a tool, try right-clicking on the bush while next to it on PC, or on other consoles whatever the equivalent "interact" button is (the one you would use for talking to someone, for example).

You will progressively get more and more walnuts to access more and more of the island as you go on, at the start on your first playthrough it can feel like a lot but remember you have all the time in the world.

Try not too but there are many guides on the internet for finding and using all the walnuts that will help you if stuck, try to figure it out on your own though, and good luck.

Thank you Elenna. On my next try I did what you said and got the walnut! Don't know why I didn't just do that the first time. I thought I had to harvest it somehow.......

Yes, you are right! Sometimes I get in too much of a hurry to do things right!!!!!

Just to reassure you, as well, you can NOT soft-lock yourself out of any sections of Ginger Island. There are always enough gold walnuts to collect in order to unlock a to-be-unlocked area.
