you should probably interact with the bush in winter, you need it to progress in the game a lot and get some extra item and info
it gives you the magnifying glass which lets you find secret notes and once you finish the community centre, journal scraps (i won't say where because spoilers)
but it's 100000% worth it

Great someone saw me at the spa and now I am called a mysterious creature. I get it I have size 15 feet and need a wax.......... Maybe I dropped my bottle of nair by the fountain.

GOT IT! Thank you so much, omg that was killing me. I even tried clicking on a few bushes before to no avail, just assumed it did nothing! And why I didn't think to pay attention to the footprints I don't know... but thank you!! Interested, can the creature only be found in winter, or year round? Thank you!!
