Help, smapi stardew valley starts with black screen😭😭😭

I've been playing modded stardew valley using smapi on the PC for a year now. Recently, in December 24, we got a new monitor, the brand is n-vision. It uses HDMI and has 100hz. Everything was fine until we updated the graphic drivers and window to the latest version. Aftet that, everytime I start stardew through smapi to play with mods, it just remains black. The game is running, you can hear the sound effects, but it still remains black. However, I can still play regular stardew valley through steam.

I have tried these ways to fix the problem:
Opening it in windowed version.
Uninstalling the mods I added to stardew.
Uninstalling and re-instaling smapi, making sure to download the latest version.
Uninstalling, deleting the game file of stardew valley, then re-instaling it on steam.

All to no avail. I can still play stardew normally, but playing with smapi just leaves the game running with a black screen. I want to play stardew valley with mods again, please help me 🙏😭😭😭

OMG, I have this exact same issue and did all of the same steps. I hope you get a solution because I need one too :(

I had a similar problem, only not even a fresh vanilla install would work. What did get it working, was going into the startup_preferences file (in AppData/Roaming/StardewValley) and set WindowMode to 1.

Since the window is pretty small in Windowed Mode, I'm using the "Default Window Size"-mod to at least have it running at 1080p. Even when in window mode, setting the resolution through the mod to 1440p causes the game to only give a black screen on start.

Seems like mod overload, probably put too many mods onto it which corrupted the data.

If you did get rid of the mods to try to reload the game to see if it would work, I would recommend checking the websites/posts where you downloaded the mods. They may not be easily removed mods and you may have to still delete some extra data that they created in different files.

I could be wrong, this happened to me once and I messed around in the files deleting anything that seemed mod like.
My Stardew Valley works fine now, probably wasn't the smartest thing to do but you know 🤷‍♂️
