PC [SPOILER] Question about a feature that might be a bug/is bugged.

This feature/bug is on the western part of Ginger Island.

Above where the crop only farm is, there's a cave with colorful and musical crystals.

My husband and I tried and we are unable to complete the puzzle, we think it's either because the pattern gets too fast or because when a crystal turns white -when waiting for the pattern- it makes any crystal below it look like it is the next one.

Can anyone confirm if this is how it's supposed to be?

I don't think the puzzle is bugged, but it is difficult. I'd keep trying every once in a while, the pattern is randomized and you might get lucky with an easier pattern

We attempted for about an hour, sometimes it easy until round 8 and others it was impossible at round 5.
