Spam and videos...

There was again a spam downpour (seems a moderator came in during my spamfighter colonel's report-ignore-new -round, phew!) and this time it was mainly porn videos. That in many cases started running automatically. Could it be possible to limit video links for new users (or at least embedded ones)? I presume here are underage users (as the game itself is well suitable for children), and that's not nice.
I know you can't limit links in general, as very often a person's first post is an ask for help -- with a link to a screenshot or log.

Having posts denied / blocked, if said post contains a link to a non-whitelisted site, would knock a lot of trouble on the head. Jade could just set up a “if a website’s blacklisted, but shouldn’t be, let us know it” thread.

Realistically, does anyone know what’s typically in links around here, when the Ruskis (because it’s usually Russia) aren’t sending botnets to our site? I don’t really keep track.

If there’s an existing list of links, linked in posts, on the forum, then there’s an easy way to make the first iteration of a link whitelist.

I will pass these ideas along, Jade will have to check to see if these are possible to implement. Right now our system for flagging links is a filter list that blocks posts containing only specific spam links we have added, with the downside being that any new spam we haven't seen before isn't affected until we update the filter.

i can look into a whitelist, but i think i couldn't find one the last time it was set up. if i do then yeah we definitely can talk about that
