SMAPI won't load mod because "assests because it's an empty folder." when it's not empty

Hi, I am new to creating my own mods and what I am trying to do is add little decor items. I have followed the guide on the Stardew Modding Wiki and yet SMAPI will not load my mod because the assests folder is "empty" but it's not. Thank you in advance.
Platform: Windows
Game ver.: 1.6

Expected vs Actual: I just want the mod to load and it's not happening

Nevermind I figured it out, for those having this problem those .json files need be saved as .json. Naming them as ".json" is not going to cut it.
