Issue SMAPI stops loading after going to multiplayer

Hello! I was playing Stardew with my friend and I'm on my Mac and he's on Windows. For me, all the mods loaded fine, just a little bit of lag. But for my friend, he could open the game and then once he clicked multiplayer it stopped. So we got rid of our mods and only kept Tractor mod and tried playing and it was the same thing. Things he has done:
Deleted SMAPI and Stardew and tried playing offline - same issue (gets stuck on the opening scene)
Restarted his computer
Updated all of his mods - now the Tractor mod is the latest version
Updated SMAPI

If it's not running for him, even without SMAPI; then that's an issue separate from modding. I'd have him run through the troubleshooting steps on the Wiki; as there's quite a bit of issues one can run into on the Windows version: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting
