Skull Cavern Time Pause Glitch

I'm thinking of doing a deep run of Skull Cavern soon but I've seen online that you can do a "time pause exploit". I think you open the journal every time before you pass out. I'm just wondering if it still works on Switch (ver 1.4). If you've tried it on Switch or 1.4 does it still work?

I think you're referring to the new floor pause (not sure I'd call it an exploit or a feature). Basically, every time you enter the next floor of the mines or skull cavern the screen will go completely black then the new floor will fade in over a second or so. During this time the in game clock is ticking. You can save time by pausing right as the screen turns black. If you do it too early you will be unable to pause until the floor loads in, too late and you will lose time from being late. You have to time it perfectly for it to be beneficial. If you are going through hundreds of floors a day the time save can really add up.

I think you might be referring to something else. I’m talking about when you stay up past 2am you’ll attempt to pass out every 10 minutes. You can stop this by opening the journal menu every time 10 minutes passes. I’m not sure of that’s still in the game.

Oh gotcha, I only started playing after 1.4 was released so I don't know about some of those old exploits.
