I was wondering if more people on this forum prefer to play stardew alone or with friends. I tend to prefer singleplayer since my friends' schedules rarely line up, and when they do, I have a tendency to be a bit bossy.

Alone. I like an easygoing, at my own pace kind of play and am not out to make a ton of money or complete all goals or reach perfection. I like to relax when I play not stress out or work my butt off, there’s enough of that IRL. 😆

ETA In all fairness I do play on iOS mobile so have never actually tried multiplayer. But just can’t see myself liking it unless I found someone as laidback and not out to reach every achievement kind of play like myself. I think I’d ruin most people’s ideas of goals or fun for the game. 😜

I once had a friend who kept accidentally digging up my potatoes. At first I thought it was crows, but I had scarecrows, so I really couldn't figure it out til I caught her one day I caught her in the act. I should have known better.

I dont mind it either way. I enjoy the single player aspect, but if people want to beef their farm then I'll just go fishing and relax or go cave diving. Or harass Demetrius. There's plenty of things to get into, just as long as I help them water every morning its not usually an issue. The thing I don't like is how hard it is to find someone who's not gonna wander off in 2 weeks to the next game

A long time ago I played with some friends, we only played for a couple of days and from then on we didn't play again, there was no problem or anything like that, there was just no initiative. Honestly I prefer to play alone, that way I play at my own pace, the hours I want to play and whenever I want, that may sound selfish but I think you can understand me, plus I don't have any friends who are as passionate about Stardew Valley as I am.

None of my friends play, I’ve introduced it to a bunch over the years but they stop playing while I don’t.

it’s why I love my big, main, singleplayer file which lags when I play it over 1080p and I just play to say I’ve done stuff no one else would try.

I have played about 200 hours on my tablet and it seems that multiplayer would be useful for stuff like gathering resources and as long as nobody steals my Sebby, it would be great

One of the many reasons I quit playing MMOs was having to depend on other people or have them depend on me. I wanted to play when I had time, in my own way. The things I read about SDV multiplayer kind of turned me off to the idea of recruiting volunteers. Plus I now rotate three different games I'm playing for my channel so I don't know when or for how long I'll be away from SDV.
