OS: Win10 and Win11
Platform: Steam
Game version: 1.6.15 (latest)
Launch method: Steam
Input methods: mouse & keyboard
Controller: none present/connected
Issue:
When holding an object (e.g. seed, machine, fence post etc.) it is unclear and inconsistent where it will be placed. Pre-1.6 the placement was always on the tile on which the player was standing (seeds) or facing directly/pointed with the mouse (other objects). In 1.6 onward the placement sometimes follows the mouse cursor, sometimes the direction the player is facing, sometimes it places an object behind the player, even when they are facing the intended tile and pointing it with the mouse cursor. Judging by how seeds are placing, it seems like the placement target was moved half a tile in front of the player and if targeted space intersects another object it will result in placement on a random tile around the player.
Proposed solution: revert the change to seed placement to be again on the tile the player is standing on and follow the mouse pointer for placement of other objects.
