Hi, so I’m a bit new to the forum scene so excuse me if this isn’t the best place to post this.
Earlier this week, I was spamming fruit tree saplings all over Ginger Island to try and see if there was anywhere else I could squeeze in a fruit tree besides the tillable farm tiles. As I was spamming, I suddenly planted a fruit sapling in the middle of this 3X3 ring of pink flowers you can see in the screenshot in the tiger slime area. So far, I haven’t come across any other areas like this that allow you to plant fruit trees, nor have I come across any other rings of flowers.
I haven’t seen anyone mention this online anywhere, so I wanted to see if anyone on the forums had come across this, or had anymore info on it. Im not sure if it’s just a convenient little Easter egg that goes no further than this, or if there’s potentially more to it (since Stardew Valley easter eggs have been known to be tricky like that). For all I know, there might be an intended purpose outside of growing something in that ring of pink flowers. It seems like an odd thing to add into the game unless there was something more to it.
If this is potentially something new, I might try and play around with it by growing different fruit trees in it, or seeing if getting the fruit trees to iridium level does anything. I’d welcome anyone else to pitch any ideas on it, or to test some theories themselves! (That is assuming this isn’t an already well known dead end of an “Easter egg”)
NOTE: I haven’t tested every plantable crop yet, but so far the only thing I can plant in it are fruit trees, tea saplings, and regular trees (however regular trees can be planted on most grass tiles like that anyways).
I also haven’t done a super thorough search of the entire map, so there could be more flower rings like this hidden away on either the island or mainland.
EDIT: As a lot of you mentioned, that happens to be a walnut spot, which explains why you might be able to plant certain things there. That being said, I thought I might include a 2nd plant spot for anyone who wants to take advantage of it! Located in the upper right corner of the Ginger Island farm (unfortunately in the middle of my work area).
