During the season phase, I flipped over a card that included the shipping bin, which allows players to trade and sell items. Is this explicit to the season phase? Ie. - Can I water crops on my action phase, collect the crop (free action), and then sell the crop from via shipping bin card? I would assume this is not allowed, but it's not entirely clear to me when reading.

The Shipping Bin icon on the Season Cards allows for players to trade and sell during the Season Phase. Once you enter into the action phase and start taking actions, the primary way of selling at that point is to visit Pierre's. During the Action Phase, the icons on the season card generally have no more effect.

No, you don't. The shipping bin icon on the season cards allows you to trade and sell items at the start of the round before you start moving and taking actions, while building the Shipping Bin allows you to trade and sell at any time, even during the action phase.
