SDV Needs To Pause Between Days without the need for selling anything, anytime i fall asleep i skip entire seasons and all my crops die, and i lose so much gold, its not a good experience, and mods arent an option because i play on ipad.
There's no reason not to include pausing between days, if you fall asleep while playing you'll pass out, lose gold, and entire seasons and events pass by you, its not a happy experience and makes me not wanna play sdv to relax before sleeping.

i hope for a change soon it seems simple cuz the game pauses when you put something for sale overnight, hope people agree thank you.

One way to get around this is to always put one item into the shipping box at the beginning of every day. It could be a piece of sap or something else low value, and if you are far enough into the game, you can arrange to have a chest and mini shipping box right next to your bed so you can do it as soon as you get up.

I agree that it would be a nice QOL change, but I think implementing a daily protocol like this could keep your farmer from playing Rip Van Winkle.

We need this QOL change anyways, i dont want to have a stack of sap in my inventory just to pause the game, they could easily just implement it.

There's some people who only have a certain amount of time in a day to play sdv and it should be enjoyable for those people as well, some people forget to do certain things cuz they dont play as often, or just starting out, I think the game should at least be a little forgiving especially since people put time energy effort and resources that they built up in the game, to for example get some seeds for the season, and to wake up and to see the farm be dead or all dried up, just because I didn't sell a single valueless item can be rough.

It doesn't require that many more seconds after going to the new day to either open backpack or a chest to pause time (provided it's a single player game), if one is sure more time to play will come soon. Or exit the game by going to the title screen. That said, it is a bit annoying.

I've been doing the things mentioned above when sneaking some game time while at work. Learning how to pause quickly is kind of important then. Don't think they'd mind too much though as long as I do my job too, considering the time some of my coworkers spend gossiping, but I don't want to be caught too often.

What happened to me in my latest game was that I - the player - dozed off behind the keyboard in the middle of a Stardew day. My farmer was outside, not getting any input from me so just idling in the woods somewhere.
So at 2:00 am the farmer got transported to bed. The next morning I - the player - was still asleep when the farmer woke up. And somehow I confirmed the prompt to go to sleep for the rest of the day - over and over again. I guess it had to do with the position of my fingers on the keyboard when I fell asleep.

It was Winter 4 or 5 when I dozed off, and then when I startled awake it was suddenly Winter 27. I guess it would have been worse to miss a productive season, but it was in my first year, so I'd been looking forward to getting some friendships started during winter. I was gutted to miss the Feast of the Winter Star that first year.

I actually debated starting over with this farm, but in the end I decided against it. Just pretended my farmer had a bad flu for all of winter.

I have to confess: I see people talking about losing days because they went AFK and... I honestly didn't even know this was a possibility. I kept looking at those comments weirdly. Have I really played with 7 different farmers including somewhat different playstyles and just never NOT had something in the shipping bin? or not noticed when the days I didn't just moved on to the next day?

It was a good suggestion for certain circumstances actually, but for overall playing experience, I think I will consider to let it as it is.

Good suggestion, I don't even need to place a mini shipping bin right next to my bed though, because my shipping bin is near my farmhouse so I'm fine with it.

Exactly as what I was thinking. I rarely go to sleep without anything shipped to my bin. Normally, I would always put anything there, literally anything. That's just how I play.

I'd love it as a toggle, if it were a whole additional button I'd have to press (even if it can be quick-skipped with something like y or f), I'd find it annoying when sleeping for long bouts or doing speedruns where you have to skip days
That's what I agreed upon, speedruns like that would be quite annoying if you have to press button (or anything) to confirm the day changes.

Also, if season changes is all that you worried about if there's no confirmation screen after go to bed, just plan ahead then. I don't find it unpleasant to plan my farm, I love doing that actually. It's what I love from the game, doing the quest, tidying up the farm, planning ahead. Even when I forgot, that's not a big deal, just go ahead and do something else. Missed the unharvested crops because of season changes? Just plant another on that season. And as what I've read from the wiki, passing out only lose 1000g or 10% of the current funds, whichever is less, so it's not a big deal, really.

I don't mean to be cynical, it's just the thoughts in my head.
