Roof Sprinkler System (Farmhouse Upgrade)

Overview

The Roof Sprinkler System is a late-game farmhouse upgrade that automatically waters all Garden Pots placed inside your farmhouse and cellar each morning.
It’s designed for players who enjoy large indoor growing setups or decorative vineyards without daily manual watering.
Creates a trade-off between casks and plant pots for cellar floor space.

How to Obtain (Suggestions Welcome)

  • Unlocked after: Farmhouse final upgrade (cellar unlocked)
  • Purchase from: Robin at the Carpenter’s Shop
  • Cost: 50,000 g
  • Materials required:
    • 20 Iridium Bars
    • 1 Battery Pack
    • 5 Gold Bars
    • 25 Hardwood
Installation:
Talk to Robin → “House Upgrades” → Install Roof Sprinkler System
Takes 3 in-game days to install. During installation, the farmhouse cellar is inaccessible.

Function

  • Automatically waters all Garden Pots inside the cellar at 6:00 AM daily.
  • Works year-round (seasons don’t matter indoors).
  • Pots with Retaining Soil remain unaffected — their water status won’t change.
  • Consumes 1 unit of water from the “Roof Tank” each day (purely cosmetic). The tank auto-refills after rain, or can be topped up with the Watering Can if you want extra realism.
Visual & Audio Details

  • Small copper or iridium pipes visible along ceilings in the farmhouse and cellar.
  • A control valve beside the cellar stairs toggles the system on/off.
  • Gentle drip and spray sounds play each morning when watering occurs.
  • A “Roof Tank” object appears outside the house — purely decorative.

Gameplay Balance

  • Complements rather than replaces sprinklers.
  • Rewards players who expand into indoor agriculture (e.g., Ancient Fruit cellars, Tea Saplings, decorative gardens).
  • Saves time without breaking game balance — harvesting and re-planting are still manual.

I could be wrong, but from what I've seen people more often place garden pots in sheds rather than the farmhouse, so maybe it'll be better as a shed upgrade?
Sometimes I use garden post in the farmhouse for decoration/supply of gifts for a spouse, but it's never too many, so watering them isn't a problem at all
Otherwise, I like how thought through the idea is. And off topic - welcome to the forums!
