By my observations, this particular farm type seems to get looked down upon compared to the others. I think an interesting feature to add would be a watermill, which could be either in working order day 1 or in need of repair using a modest amount of wood. The key to this buff would be providing a no-cost, pre-cloth means of milling rice, wheat, and beets. Rice could especially benefit from this, as there is an abundant amount of water-side soil for irrigation, which helps rice grow more quickly.
And don't get me started on how hard the cottagecore aesthetic would go.
