Ah, glad you mentioned this. I made an account for just this reason
i updated to the new version and yeah, on external controllers (I use the Odin 2 and have a Retroid Pocket 3+, those are android gaming devices, I assume this applies to anyone who uses controller peripherals for their phones like yourself). I noticed on the new android update that whenever I pause and go into my inventory, the red box to choose items is not there and I have to use the touch screen. If you listen carefully though, you can still hear that little tapping noise when you move between items, but you just don’t know what you’re clicking on and the stats don’t appear.
i was trying to find a workaround for this, searching for what I was clicking on, counting boxes with each clicking noise, and I accidentally dropped my pick axe and had to wait the next day for it to be in the lost and found. I think trying to move between items blind and holding buttons made me throw it in the trash
HOWEVER, gently tapping on an item returns the red box, but you still can’t use your joystick or D Pad to move between items or check stats
UNLESS: The item is in the first slot of your inventory. Putting food in the first box of your inventory, gently tapping it to make the red box appear, and holding the A button (or O if you’re using the PlayStation phone peripheral I assume) will show the health, energy, and value of the food in that slot (if you bought the book that shows the value of items you can sell). I can’t make this work in any of the other boxes though
So it’s not too bad and doesn’t make the game unplayable, but it feels very “off” when buttons are option. Especially since that’s the only area this seems to be happening in As other inventory screens, ie, selling things to Pierre. That being said, having to touch and hold items in my inventory to see what that are or how much they’re worth or the defence stats, is a bit annoying. My touch screens are not great and sometimes when I try to do that it just keeps quickly grabbing and dropping the item and I can’t see stats.
not a huge bug but I would love for this to be fixed on Android since using the buttons is so much easier than relying on touch.
thank you Eric Barone for all the fun and hard work if you ever read this :)
