Random stone owl decoration on normal farm?

Playing properly on my normal farm for first time, only played hilltop for an extended period of time till now, found a stone owl behind a tree?? Did I place this accidentally and forget ever buying it (where are they bought?) or are they pre-generated on normal farms? Please and thank you!!

It's a random event. Used to be bugged and absurdly uncommon, from what I understand, but now it's not terribly uncommon (I have two on my farm, as of Summer Year 3).

It might still be bugged. I'm up to 11 Stone Owls now.

Are you sure your game is updated to the newest version? Maybe you somehow got stuck on the buggy version.

Yes.

There are patterns to the overnight events, and it is possible that there are seeds that give a lot of the events in reasonably quick succession.

I play through Steam, so I'm pretty sure my version is up to date. BTW, no Stone Owl today.

I'm still playing the old version, so the bugged/rare version and none have appeared for me (year 4). So, yep, used to be rare heheheheh
