Question on "what next" after Community Center, Museum completion and saved games.

It took me forever tapping away on my Samsung tablet, but I've completed the Community Center, finished the Museum collection, gotten married, reached the Forge and have the basic farm on a routine. Since I suck at fishing and cooking, I'm not going for Perfection.
So, a couple of questions:
On my current game, what hidden details, areas, and adventures are out there to explore?
If you start a new game, do the others remain in stasis until you come back? Do people save or delete previous games?

Skull Cavern in the desert?
Raccoon family in the forest?
You mentioned the forge, so I presume you have Ginger island. But have you unlocked Mr Qi's walnut room?
Also I'm not sure how it's possible to suck at cooking, so long as you have the recipes and the ingredients you can make anything...

As for your second question, I've got my original 1.5 farm at perfection and my current 1.6 getting there. I also did a joja run just for the trophy (PS4 player here) and then deleted it. In my perfection save I'm trying to gift every villager every item but it's very on again/off again.
