Question about gameplay

I am so happy my board game arrived! It is beautiful and there were no imperfections. I appreciate the added strategies and tips page!

I have a question about gameplay- Do the professionals chosen mean that player is the only one who can perform related actions? For example, the player with the mining profession is the only one who can mine? Is that correct or am I missing something?

Nope, anyone can go to the mines! The professions will give you bonuses, so as the game goes on, it's very often the case that a player with the mining profession would be the best one to visit the mines, or a player with the fishing profession will have slightly better results when they go fishing. But anyone can do any task in the game.
