Question about Children and events involving them

I haven’t posted on forums like this so sorry if I incorrectly use/don’t use functions
Edit: I’m not trying to get two children of the same gender, just wondering how it would effect the order you get them in—though ig given they never actually grow up it doesnt matter which is first cause you can pretend otherwise
I want to get as much as i can my first play through—some things like multiple marriages I’m not bothering as I’m already married to the person I want to be and at least at this moment don’t want to go through the hassle (and financial drain) of divorce/MIB/work back up—and one of which I’m going for is the terraria reference, and could start it, but have a couple questions before I do:

1. Will your second child still be the opposite gender of the first, or does it re-randomize
2. If you’ve already accepted a second child, will it still be born if you remove the first—and if so does this make sure its the opposite gender—or does it still count as your child and remove it before it ever exists

I’m only concerned about the order if gender cause im basing them off real people in my life

My understanding is that, short of mods, you will get one boy and one girl. Which comes first can vary, but I don’t think you can force 2 boys or 2 girls, in the vanilla game

Mateo has it right, you can only have one boy and one girl.

I'm actually not sure when the child's gender is decided though I'd assume it's when the child is born. It wouldn't impact whatever you're doing however (if it doesn't take into consideration the doved child's gender), as the next child would just be the opposite of whatever the second child is.

You can have only two children; one male and one female. The gender of the first child is random, and the gender of the second child is the opposite of the first child.
From what I see, yes, 2 of the same is not possible (at least in vanilla)

I don’t think it will take a doved child into account, so you’d be back at a 50/50 chance for gender.

I don’t know if a pregnancy would disappear if you dove your child, but I don’t think so.

Doving both children enables pregnancy back: the spouse will ask again the farmer to have children. However, it is not clear what will happen if only one child is turned into dove: will the game allows pregnancy for two children or will count that only one child slot remain available?

I am pretty sure that if you have one child and turn it into a dove, you can have two more children.
