Pros and Cons of the Community Center and Joja Mart

Who are the people out to the here who go the Joja way? Tell us what the benefits of that are. And our good ol' CC people what's so good about that? I'm in my 5th save file and my player isn't exactly the best person, so he chose Joja.........
But I usually go the CC way, don't worry.
We all know Joja is notorious for selling items for 25% more than Pierre's after all.

Going with Joja can be faster if one can earn money easily enough, and I think it was cheaper going by what the items sell for (definitely cheaper if buying most items from the travelling merchant). Also allows you to buy auto-petters once everything's paid off.

Going with the Community Center feels better to me since the farmer came to the village having escaped a Joja desk job. With the remixed bundles it can also have more variation and give a bit of challenge with some of the bundles. It also has the advantage of rewards for each bundle in a room, even if it's things one can/will be able to make. CC also has the bulletin board "room" and its reward of 2 hearts of friendship with everyone you've met, which doesn't have a corresponding part if going with Joja.

I agree with @Terdin : I played both paths on several saves and Community Center always feels nicer for many reasons:
  • the farmer's background story
  • the rewarding feeling to "save" Pelican Town from a predatory company
  • more challenges and gameplay integration than going the Joja road (an thus, more satisfying as a player than purely paying money)
  • buildings that blend in the nature graphics of Pelican Town, rather than the blue/grey buildings of Joja Mart/Warehouse

On the other hand, going the Joja road allows easy access to auto-petter (though I don't think of them as useful in late game, unless you are raising a lot of animals), and also a movie theater that uses a better location.

Community center is for people to you know give to the community, while Joja is for speedrunners and people to who don’t want to go get all the items for the CC.

I agree with all of you,

Personally I found the Joja run to be more relaxing than the CC

I didn’t have to constantly wait certain seasons for a certain item and sometimes I’d miss out on a certain item I really needed.

Overall, it’s your choice to decide which to go for.
