Prismatic shards?

hello! I don't come on here much anymore, but I have a question.
What do y'all do with your prismatic shards besides selling them and getting the sword? I have a surplus right now, and I don't just want to sell them all, if that makes any sense.

Well, 1.5 introduced something that is guaranteed to eat up some prismatic shards once you get to/unlock it.

If I don't need them for that, well, I love putting 4 in each Junimo Hut so that my Junimos go prismatic. That's always fun.

If I don't need them for anything like the above, and if I don't really need the money... well, they can be saved for gifting, as everyone loves them except for Haley. Edit to add: and I have plenty of rabbit feet to give to her when I get asked to give out 50 loved gifts in a week.

I'm with @imnvs on this one. Gifts are great (just don't forget and give one to Hayley) and I love prismatic junimos.

Don't forget about Tailoring a set of new outfits as the Prismatic Shard gives you a random item each time you Tailor with it. There are 5 outcomes and you won't get them sequentially, so that'll eat up a few Shards.

That said, each time you tailor with the Shard you are guaranteed to receive a sequintial item, thus guaranteeing you'll look smashing in it.

You can donate one to the museum, one for the hidden bundle, and to turn your children into doves.

I almost forgot, to craft a wedding ring for another player in multiplayer.

Yes, the color is more vibrant or less pastel with the more gems you put in. You can actually put in any gem, foraged mineral or geode mineral too... and they work using the sewing machine dye rules. In the sewing machine, all gems and minerals are weak dyes requiring 4 to get full saturation. On another save I have 4 amethysts in each junimo hut because my farmer is Amethyst and it's her Purple Farm. It has been a long time since I've verified this, because if I'm doing prismatic junimos I just put 4 in, but I do seem to recall having prismatic pastel junimos with only 1 shard. (Edit to add: I tried to verify quickly, but in literally every one of my saves with junimo huts I have it is Winter, it is raining, or I simply have nothing to harvest currently so no junimos are out.
