should come up with Linus's Quest were you work with members of the town to build Linus a home so he no longer has to live in that tent.
you would go around and talk to the towns people about donating furniture and talk to robin about building him even a small cabin your character would supply the money and materials but would be another good way to make community come together

Nah, it goes against his character. His hermit lifestyle is by choice. If you pay attention to his various heart events, you’ll see. There’s even a unique interaction where if you try to give him a treasure chest he’ll reject it, causing you to keep it.

As well as him outright denying wanting a house and the offer to live on your land, he lives the way he does because he has chosen to do so, maybe if we could get rid of who or whatever is dropping stones on his tent though...

I think someone also spraypaints his tent on occasion. Gotta be someone from out of town as nobody in town seems to have a beef with him, though some of Robin's early dialog suggests she's initially unsure of him. By the time Leo's in town Linus should be a known, dependable person so that kind of dialog could be lessened.

I think many peoples' reaction to Linus is justifiable as it's an easy assumption that he's been forced into homelessness as many of us see that IRL. I don't remember when in the game you get the first indications that he's living with Nature by choice but if you don't run by him very often (I don't for at least the first year) you'll only rarely get any dialog from him other than wariness, and not gain the hearts that lead to that explanatory dialog. Plus, I think it's in most people's hearts to want to help someone and Linus comes across as someone who could use a bit of help, before he explains to the Farmer than in fact he can help you more than you can him.

Yes Linus is a naturalist by choice. He will even politely thank you if you acknowledge that by not inviting him to live on your farm in late dialogue with him when Robin suggests it out of compassion.

Though what COULD happen is that people stop harming his property, shunning him, gossiping about him, actually talking to him at festivals, and see his wonderful knowledge of nature as an invaluable gift to the community and especially in his care and provision from nature to Leo.

And I think in some new dialog at the Luau, some (one?) of the villagers makes positive comments about Linus' roasting skills. Might have been Maru? It's been weeks since the Summer Festivals and that is well outside my memory's statute of limitations.
