PLZ HELP!

So I had my legendary fish in my Fishing chest thats connected to my work bench and my legendary fish got used in a crafting recipe... Is there anyway to get them again?

If you went to bed at the end of the day you lost the legendary fish but haven't completed the next day yet you can revert back to the previous day by going into the saves folder, deleting or renaming the files for the current day (FarmName_123456789 and SaveGameInfo) and removing '_old' from the file names for the previous day.

Note that this only allows you to go back one day unless you have previously saved an earlier day under a different file name so it doesn't get overwritten. I don't know if it's possible on console or mobile as I only play on PC.

You have a couple options, I'll list them in order of how "ethical" they probably are:
1. Build a cabin and get another player (or yourself with a controller or launching the game twice) to catch it - downsides are that you need at least a few levels of fishing, you can use buffs and a master rod as well as the fishing buff from the desert festival to only need a couple levels though, still going to take an hour or two

2. Edit the save file to remove the legendary 'check' which makes you unable to catch another - this requires a guide or some experience to find the right string of code, there is a guide here on the forums from a while back that Nimeld posted
If you use this method BACKUP YOUR SAVES

3. Download a mod which allows for multiple legendary fish - not possible on most platforms and may take even longer than option 1 if you aren't already a bit experienced with modding

4. Use an item ID to spawn it in, there isn't a long enough name box to have quality included in the name check (I think but I'm not to experienced with 1.6 name injection so I can't really tell you for sure) but you could easily have a plain quality legend which looks the same in a fish tank - definitely the fastest though most questionable (though I will argue, you already caught it yourself and aren't going to sell it or anything so I'd say it doesn't matter)

I made an account here just to thank you for that! I just caught Legend with the intent to use it in a fishing pod, because I wanted to have all legendaries (1 & 2) in pods. Accidentally losing Legend meant that I could either accept that I was missing on one legendary fish (and the best producer of row by a huge margin!) or restart the game. I wonder why ConcernedApe created this backup file... Maybe deliberately for folks like me who noticed one second too late that they ****ed up :D Anyway, thanks for that message. All good now, I can recatch Legend :)

Or you can do the Qi quest to catch the second-generation legendary fish... you can catch as many of those as you want, as long as the quest isn't completed. It won't be the daddy, but the son is just the same in every stat.
