It is year 5 day 17 of summer. My pets have been missing all summer. I'm not sure what to do. We had full hearts with the dog and had just gotten the cat

Just chiming in to voice a similar bug on Switch/local co-op, most recent patch as of 11.25.24. Year 3 spring. We had a dog, had gotten a cat the beginning of the month. Both disappeared mid month around the time of the desert festival. Only variable I can think of is that I had a single player save that I switched to and back from in between play sessions. Unsure what triggered this. The animals are both missing from our pets/animals tab, though both their pet bowls are still present and have remained full of water.
I'd love for this to be fixed or given an in-game workaround somehow (like a pet rescue you can call and define the name/type pat and have them be "found"), something other than "buy a new pet".
