Hello all!
While thinking about building a shed for when we move next year, the thought occurred to me that changing the exterior design and color of our farm buildings would be a nice addition to the game. It could be applied similar to how we apply Wallpaper and Flooring currently, just with a solid colour and more.. simplistic style pattern, to alter the look of the wooden buildings.
Paint
Paint the exterior of the house, and any building on your farm. Paints could be acquired via the Carpenter's shop for basic colours, and rare or less common colours could be crafted by using various items and or purchased from the Traveling Cart on Friday's, Sundays, and during the Night Market.
Exterior Design
The exterior design changes could be similar to what we have with the look of the multiplayer cabins. With changes added to suit the main house. It should be added, that the idea would also include 2 separate sections to colour on the exterior. No matter what design you choose, different colours can be applied to the main boards, and then to the framing/door/windows.
Paint Mixer
As mentioned above, we could craft our own paints using various items of required colour and a specific tool, the Paint Mixer. The machine/device could be purchased by at the Carpenter's Shop, possibly tied in with Maru as she likes to build gadgets, or we could craft it ourselves like many of the farm tools such as the Seed Maker and Furnace. When it comes to crafting the paint, each "bucket" would require, lets say, 3 items of a specific colour. So if we wanted a Purple like shade, we'd have to provide a Grape, piece of Amaranth, and a Sea Urchin. For a rarer, more complex colour, something like Mint, we'd need a Sturgeon, Ancient Fruit, and Seafood Pudding. You get the idea.
I think this would be a neat little idea to add further customization to the game, without having to seek out and install mods.
