New years eve

When you're married I think your spouse gives you wine or something.
Not every spouse acknowledges New Years Eve. Leah and Elliot do give you "Wine" on New Years Eve, but Haley does not. (Those are just the three marriage candidates that I've married and have also shared a New Years Eve with them.) I don't feel like double-checking everyone on the wiki, right now. Just thought it should be mentioned.

I think new years was not added because Ape wanted two events per year. Still, it feels a bit surprising that it's not there. Winter is a fairly full month, with the night market added, but it's also a month with no farming, so it's not like there isn't time for something to happen.

Another option is just to have a more personal cutscene. Maybe it triggers by being in your house from 10-12pm, and you get something happening with you and your family.

Yess !! My idea exactly, a personal cutscene would be lovely.

Fireworks is a great idea! Fireworks as item you can activate at 12:00 would be a nice addition. I guess its not difficult to add.
Im glad you agree with me ! I hope CA see your post and consider you and tomaO2 suggestion because the ideas it really neat and didn’t seem too difficult to code ( i think..) and would make the game even better !! 1D32CA9D-30E6-4434-AE71-F9430FCD97CB.gif

I watched a Dangerously Funny video that showed a cliff area that was never installed in the game. If that was finished it would make a good spot for your family to walk to and watch fireworks from.
It was some mod? A little expansion for the SV map would be nice 😃

Found it Phew, that took awhile. It's a mod that shows off an unused area of the map. It's just above the train station. A bolder blocks off the entrance now, but it originally wasn't there and there is some stuff beyond that, including an unfinished cliff area.

Might be a good spot to watch fireworks, Might want to rework it a bit so you feel like you are looking down on the town.

Googling, I found out that it's a reward for completing the golden walnut room. That makes it unusable as a family spot for New Years, I suppose.

In that case, some sort farm scene location. I suppose the MC could suddenly have fireworks to shoot off while the family watches?

Thank you a lot for your research! its pretty interesting to know there is area I've never seen before.

I don't think its unusable for New Years Eve. I could imagine that the reward for completing the walnut room is not only this area, but also the opportunity to celebrate New Years Eve there. With fireworks. And Champagne. And spouse kissing.

All in all im playing SV on Nintendo Switch, so im full of expectation for the new update...

My thinking on it not being suitable is that it is an extremely late game development. I'm a hundred hours in on the game so far and I'm nowhere close to getting it. Most people would never manage to get that far, and it would be nice to have a small event every year.

Still, the point is valid. Nothing stopping you from making the event an additional bonus for unlocking the area. Likewise, it's possible to have a house event at first, and then a new cliff event after you unlock the area.

Not... quite correct, but close. You don't really "complete" the walnut room (there you receive what are essentially special orders that you are paid for in Qi gems which are used to buy things that can mostly only be bought with Qi gems).

You need to attain perfection, which is checked for at the walnut room and you get a reward for attaining perfection there, but you don't really do anything at the walnut room for it besides check your current status and get the reward. That is a signal that you'll be able to go to "the summit" which is behind the boulder... and that would actually be a fantastic place to see the fireworks. The only problem is that you'd only be able to see them from this location super-super-late-game, yes, but maybe another location wouldn't be bad?

Although many thanks for your correction - im looking for playing the new update!
Possible locations for fireworks before completing the quest could be market square or beach pier.
