A brother and sister duo who run a pet shop! Andy and Lisa. They had a pet shop back home, in the city but there was just too much competition. Slowly the whole town has pets!
Its weird that only Abby,Emily and Alex has a pet. Especially since there's two young children in town you would think one of them would have a pet.
You would be able to buy treats for your animal. They don't need food but you can gain more hearts with your animal quicker if you buy them treats. Or buy toys that will also deepen your bond with your animal. And for those of you, like me who have accidentally rejected the animal now you can buy an animal.

I think a pirate or ship captain who brings goods from neighboring towns and countries could kind of be interesting. He or she would be like the travelling merchant but could maybe have a different set of items only obtainable trough them like seeds, furniture, or other goods. Maybe it could also add in a trading mechanic to try and spice up the mid-late game? The captain could travel to different places every week and the player needs to try and figure out what items sell for high values in that location. They would dock for 2-3 days but unlike the traveling merchant, you are able to befriend them in order to learn about their backstory

If I had to design them I would go for a blunt female pirate named Alice who left her home, a small port town in the Gem Sea, because of the conflict the war brought over it. She became a pirate in order to restore her homeland and take back what both the Ferngill Republic and Gotoro Empire stole from her

So what I actually would add in wouldn't be one person, not two, not three, but in fact be infinity people. It would make it so your children would look like you and your spouse. Like it's random but when you have your first child it would pick it to look like you or your spouse. Then the next time you have a child it would be the opposite one(for example if it picked your spouse it would pick you) so that's what characters I would add in( dunno if this counts for a character but I'm gonna say it any way

It could be related to the pirates wife quest

So, crazy idea here. A rare item trader. Name: Zach. Gender: male. He would be obtained by an event that would occur when you go to the skull cave at 11:00 or later. He will trade in a unique way. You give him a iron ingot and he will give you a random rare item OF THAT VALUE. That would add a whole NEW VALUE SYSTEM TO THE GAME. Give him a statue of endless fortune, however, and he will give a new item called Zach's brew. When you drink it it will let you stay awake all night for 3 nights.

I'd wanna a farmer rival NPC, and I'd want them to live over in Cindersap Forest. I think it would be cool to have another farmer that's kinda like our player but little different at the same time. I'd kinda like it to be a competitive relationship to see who could be the better farmer, but as you become better friends with your rivial it mellows out and the NPC would just trade tid bits of game tips. I like the idea because it makes me think of one of the Harvest Moon games.

I'd also like to have another joja mart NPC, idk, I enjoy the havoc.

Somebody from Zuzu city. Like, a police officer.

Rural areas nowadays are dangerous to live in, since small time thieves, burglars and even worse, are loose; especially dubious foreigners with shady business.

The only thing that troubles me so far, is the lack of criminality in the game or rather, of law enforcement/prevention. Magic is good and all, but monsters are ill the worst thing that can attack you and yours and most importantly? Not only at night.

Living in a rural area myself, with few wild trees and seasonal plants, as well as semi-wild animals roaming free in my gardens and having experienced (armed) burglars' assault (thank god it turned out in a miraculous way for me) while i was peacefully dozing off early evening, i find the world of stardew too good to be true! Walls and fences, dog alone aren't nearly enough.
