New Trees...

We always want more crops. Here, suggest any crop you want.

My personal thought right now, is Coconut Trees. It's hard to believe we have the seed for the tree but we can't plant it! The coconut tree already grows in Calico Desert. It already grows a fruit, it has all its sprites, it even has recipies that make it useful... WHY CAN'T WE PLANT IT?!

Obviously you couldn't plant the Coconut Tree until you get to Calico Desert and grab a nut. And they would be a Summer Crop.

Perhaps they'd be the only tree that is free, but it's not like they make you a fortune. Perhaps upon dropping them into a machine, you can process Coconut Milk or Coconut Oil or Coconut Cream.

Coconut trees would be really cool! I would love to put some of them in the greenhouse instead of travel really far to get one or two coconuts.

I would really love lemon, pear and lime trees, I think they could be included in some new recipes! (Like lemonade in the future, maybe?)

For crops, I would love to see raspberry pants/bushes. I know we already have salmonberries, but it's the same as the coconuts, you can't have them. If you could plant raspberry bushes, it would be so cool! Plus, raspberries are different from salmonberries. Why can't we have both?

Thanks for creating this thread! Can't wait to hear some other people's ideas on this!!

By tapping a Coconut Tree you'd get Coconut Milk, by processing Coconut Milk you get Coconut Cream or Coconut Oil. Obviously you would be able to plant the nut/seed you've harvested, but then again the tree would be altered to take 28 days to grow and only produces its seed in Summer (except in Calico Desert). So despite being free, it's not OPed. Besides, I've had a massive Tapper Farm before. SO much Oak Resin was needed...

Lemon trees sound fun. Process them and get Lemon Juice, add sugar to create Lemonade!

The wiki states `Palm Trees are found in The Calico Desert and on Ginger Island. They do not drop seeds, but may occasionally drop a Coconut when chopped down or shaken. They cannot be tapped:

Being a tropical/sub-tropical tree, they could only realistically survive in these locales.

I do like the suggestion of coconut milk/cream/oil.

No offence, 1Fly, but I've never cared much about realism in a game where popping a tapper on a tree yields maple syrup or tiny green imps will pick your crops or a tree will grow to full size in 12 days. Growing coconut trees on your farm is the least of it.

Isn't that exactly how maple syrup is made?

Trees I would suggest are olive and avocado. Maybe let you mix them with flowers for shampoos.

Cinnamon-press a while holding a scythe to get harvest
Figs-grows everywhere and tasty option mind you eat around the fig wasp
Plums- the wild ones grow let's plant them close to apricots and see what happens
Coulter's pines-shake for a pine cone the that can give a concussion. The pine nuts are edible though the wood is poor quality

None taken. Granted, there are sub-tropical trees that grow in Stardew Valley such as orange trees, so it's not unthinkable.

If it were possible, I could see cultivating palm trees on the Ginger Island farm.

Cultivating coconuts for fruit, milk and oil is a great idea. I hope it comes to pass before I make a new character and start the beach farm. Coconut or palm trees could be a perk of not being able to plant other crops.
