hi all, i got this game for my switch a while ago but when trying to play im totally lost. Any tips?

Don't be concerned if you feel like you're going too slow, and most importantly have fun.

Don't listen to people's "best ways to do x", because half of the game is figuring stuff out on your own. With the vast majority of things, the game will let you know in time where to find everything. If you have any specific questions though, people would be more than willing to help here.

Yes, the most important thing is to have fun. There is no right or wrong way to play Stardew Valley in my opinion. The more you play the more you learn the game.

...and after you've played for a bit, and you've learned more? You can start up a new farm and put what you've learned to use doing something bigger/better/different.

I know that feeling.

When I first played I was like "well....what the hell should I be doing?"

I saw the prices of things, saw the Comm Center goals and was like "ok, goals!"; then pulled my first crop of parsnips and got some tiny amount of money and was like "oh damn, this is going to take FOREVER!"

Here is my advice. Set some manageable goal for yourself. Try "get to Level 2 of X skill" or "get to 5 Hearts with Linus", then work for it. Keep setting these little goals for yourself. Eventually you'll have a great path and plan.
