1.6 Update New Merchant!

On spring 11 I got a message in bottom left corner that the bookseller was in town. They seem to come multiple times a month. The books offer upgrades to your character and xp depending on the book. I don't know if they have different books each time because this is the first time they have come so far.

How long do those special knowledges last? For the game that’d be way cool! Especially that running buff.

On the second visit i have discovered a new option. The book merchant will trade useful stuff for extra copies of books that you have. Books can apparently be found in many places. i got a monster compendium book that gives a chance for double monster drops by killing monsters.

A Queen of Sauce cookbook was being sold. It was on a perfection file so I didn't have anything to learn but I think it mentioned teaching missed recipes. Probably doesn't unlock recipes that haven't already aired.

This is a lovely addition to the game - so cute. Imagine being able to physically add the books to a bookshelf in your farmhouse too.

I also fished up a book that taught the ability to sometimes get roe in a treasure chest. I fished up a chest when I caught a bullhead and got 2x bullhead roe.
