1.6 Update New extreme roe?! 1.6.9 potential "spoilers"

FilthyGorilla

Local Legend
This is a new feature, all legends can now be added to ponds.

Getting that many a day is sheer luck though, on average they only give roe like every few days, even up to once a week. That means their average g per day generally balances out to a little stronger/little weaker (depending on the legend) than a lava eel pond.

Amazing but not ultra game breaking, still super fun though

How often are you getting roe? I put mine in a pond and I swear it was more than 7 days and I didn't get anything. I thought maybe it was bugged so I took it out and put it in again and now 3-4 days and still nothing... I wonder if it would have given me some if I didn't take it out but 7+ days and no roe seemed odd...

I had this happen with a sturgeon pond. Went weeks wothout roe which I knew was abnormal. I moved the pond (actually just triggered the move option but it ot right back where it was originally) and then started getting roe a couple days later. I did not remove any fish.

After the initial release of v1.6.9 on Monday, they nerfed Legendary Fish Roe because it was too OP producing every day. Now they produce Roe far less often.

Hello, turns out it was just nerfed in the most recent patch which kinda makes sense as it seemed completely overpowered!

Yes, exactly. I missed the party, sort of :(

Apparently it's still the best roe for g/pd but yeah nowhere near as efficient. I'm contemplating using an animal cracker but I don't want it to go to waste? I've never used one before but the concept seems easy enough to understand. Just confusing given the low probability. Vacated my flounder fish that was giving me a type of jelly for this and now I feel bad for them haha.

If the Legend still gives the best return on Roe production then I'd use an Animal Cracker on it unless you need more Milk/Wool/Eggs elsewhere. I don't use Fish Ponds for generating g so they get the last Animal Crackers from me except for the Stingray Pond as I need those Dragon Teeth!

Ooooo thank you for the insight! I haven't got to the part with the dragon teeth yet (dw I have heard about them and don't mind spoilers at all). I've only got 2 crackers so far though lol. Tbh I find the animals to be really tedious work though I do love them. But any more output from them would just be frustrating! I think I'll give it to the Legend and see what it's got for me :)

I've got 6 ponds and tbh they're not amazing for g but a little while ago I wanted to get into smoking fish and have just not continued that venture so much, yet.

If anything it's more efficient, you're harvesting it less for more money, that's good.

It's absolutely worth your animal cracker, especially since you can only get one of each of their (original legends) ponds anyway

I think I’ve done like 1 season or so and still no roe lol :(

Anyone know if the Legendary and Legendary II/Extended Family pond roe rates are the same? I've set up all 5 Extended Family with golden crackers and I've got way more roe than I was expecting - they produce maybe once every three or four days, anywhere between 3 - 7 roe, then that's been doubled by the golden cracker. Ms Angler in particular has had either 12 or 14 roe a few times. I'm on the latest patch so it's post-nerf (I haven't tried the original Legendary fish yet). 🤔

i finally got 1.6 and i'm more focused on redecorating my bedroom with the wizard's furniture and taking care of my new dog, but if i ever find the legend i'll try this out

Yeah that's not yet super unlucky actually, if you start to get to like 40-50 days without roe then maybe report as that's like a 1/1000 chance to happen but right now you aren't yet an outlier when it comes to the legend roe production, it's just that slow right now

So I actually (finally) got roe, and I'm pretty sure it gave me like 17 (with animal cracker)! The wait was so worth it but the weird thing was that I got another batch of 10 a handful of days later. The cracker is definitely a good idea for anyone considering it! The roe alone is so pricey but when it's aged is just ridiculously good.

So with all the legendaries pondable, the rarest roes now are Squid and Midnight Squid. Unless they've been tweaked somewhere in the updates both those ponds only produce ink, their roe is only findable in fishing chests.
Yep, pretty much forced into fishing for it. Luckily we have a whole event for fishing squid up with a couple rewards and which extends the catch time for squid so there's some benefit to your timing.

Yeah you can get an insane number of roe, just that 17 is a whole 120,000g for a single day of collecting and a couple machines processing it. People complain about how rare it is but it's actually pretty useful to get large chunks of cash with little effort, big plus for me

Zero set-up time too, since the pond population stays at 1. No item requests or waiting for the fish to multiply. Even instant processing for aged roe is easier - Fairy dust is more available since 1.6. I think it was only craftable before, now it's in fishing chests, raccoon rewards etc. All that's left is 'How many of these do I want to make?' lol.

Yep, that's also something to consider, no quests nor real obligation to fish anything out of it for maximum profit. Just clean, low effort, simple cash
