New building ideas :)

I would absolutely love to see more buildings, both comercial and for living. There would of course arrive new NPC's with these new buildings. These buildings and people would arrive naturally either because some time has gone by or by completing several side quests. Some of the different buildings I would love to see are:

*An inn/hotel. In this Inn/hotel small side-characters would visit from time to time and perhaps bring goods to sell, or perhaps interested in buying some of your crops. They could also arrive with quests. Perhaps you could befriend some of these characters and convince them to move to stardew valley as permanent residents. This brings me to my next point.

*New residential buildings. New people who could move in would live in these houses, like the people who you can befriend in the inn/hotel. Perhaps even your mother could move there. Perhaps there is a sidequest where you rally the residents to collect money to buy Linus a house. Perhaps even help Penny move out of her shi**y trailer. I also think random people could move in or friends and relatives of the normal residents.

*A building to serve as a school building on rainy or cold days. I think its really cute seeing them read together in the library and outside, but I think Penny deserves better for all she has done for the children. I think they still should visit the library/museum and walk outside, but on days with bad weather they could spend the day there. Perhaps they could start and end the days there. And when new children move in (hint hint) Penny needs more space, therefore I think a small and humble school building would serve well.

*A café. We have the bar for late evening after a hard day of work to relax and catch up with the residents, but we dont have something for the early morning to get you ready for a hard days work. Thats why I think a café would serve nicely as a place to meet up in the early morning and grab a coffee with your fellow residents. I think the café should close around 1pm as to not to intersect with the bars opening times that much.

*A "markastue". In Norway we have these small log cabin resturant-places out in the woods near popular forest trails. They sell stuff like waffles, coffee, hot dishes, hot chocolate, cinnomenrolls, soda etc and all the food is made fresh right there. Its very cozy and nice and I think that would fit having something like that out in the woods for when you go on a walk in the forest in SV. Perhaps this will even add a new part to the forrest so it is bigger and it feels more deserving finally arriving there. In english "markahytte" means "forrest cottage". The people who work there also live there btw.

I will add more ideas in the comments when I come up with them. Let me know what you think! :)

More buildings sound great and fun! I do want to make a few corrections, though:

Perhaps there is a sidequest where you rally the residents to collect money to buy Linus a house. Perhaps even help Penny move out of her shi**y trailer.
There's an event in the game that implies Linus really does not want a house, and there is a Community Upgrade you can buy down the line that addresses the Penny problem.

I'd like it if Penny used the CC for a schoolroom if you finish it.

A cafe that sells coffee, tea and breakfast food sounds like a fun addition! There are already a couple of breakfast items in game, so it could cycle through those at random.

Yes, more buildings with NPCs, quests, shops and so on would be great. Considering the fact that you're rather busy the first year on your farm, these locations should start opening later on giving us more stuff to do in late game as it get's a bit empty after you complete the main objectives. Instead of hotel I would suggest having an option to upgrade the Stardrop Saloon to have few beds for tourists that would come offering new items and sometimes smaller quests. Yes, the school is something like building Pam a house (mostly decorative but still nice). Café doesn't really fit Stardew Valley though, it's a Village with very few people (Maybe the ice cream stand could sell café, tea and cupcakes during winter with some cosmetic changes).
