Switch mummified bat questions

im having the same basic problem as everyone else, cant find the bat in the volcano.

does anyone have an update on the progress of it? will it be out soon? are we gonna have to wait 3 years until the next major update?
i want an ostrich, man.

It was only about a year between major updates. I wouldn't worry too much.
