Multiplayer on mobile

Do we really need to use the same WiFi only can play multiplayer in mobile? Are there any other ways?

To play with someone who isn't on the same network, the host can port-forward their game. You can also use a program to simulate that you are in the same network, like the one mentioned in this post https://forums.stardewvalley.net/th...phone-at-a-distance-and-also-with-a-pc.36835/
