Linux Mr. Qi gives the walnut count one off! (not 1.6. specific, old glitch) (Not Linux-specific, I was forced to put in OS tag)

I have been wondering this for some time (has been noticing this again and again but now I actually checked the sums trice like the former shop assistant, and as I am not the former shop assistant I got the same result ever time):

At the moment I have 13 walnuts available.
Mr. Qi says that I have 98 walnuts.
I have the following:
North island unlocked (1 walnut)
West island unlocked (10)
Island farmhouse (20)
Island mail (5)
Dig site bridge (10)
Island trader (10)
Resort (20)
Parrot Express (10)

That makes 99 walnuts!
(13 + 5 + 1 = 19, the rest are multiples of 10)

So you actually need 101 walnut to get to Qi, not 100. Cannot he count?

And has this possibly something to do with the common bug of missing the last walnut? I mean the bug, not that you've actually missed one.

Commenting myself: Found the large animal spine, getting access to Qi room. Before going to the tent, I rechecked the Qi door: 98.
Got the 6 walnuts, and checked the perfection: 105 / 130. 98 + 6 is 104, at least according to my math book.
