I thought about a more natural appearance of the river: after the mountain lake the river should have some rapids and maybe a little waterfall or cascades. Near the waterfall or cascades could be a higher chance for shimmering lights.
I know this is not a big thing. But for me the mountains doesn't look like mountains partly because the river seems to be flat without slope.
Also I think the stairs to the train station should go down (like into a small valley or glen), not up. It seems strange that the train runs near the mountain top or along a pass.
