Mods not working

I downloaded stardew valley via steam. i have the stardew valley modding api. followed everything it said by putting the mods into the mod folder. but whenever i load the game using the api it says (playing with 0 mods) i even downloaded the requirements the mods needed and still nothing.

I play on Game pass so it's a little different but rename the "Stardew Valley.exe" file inside content, where your modding api should also be located, to "Stardewvalleyoriginal.exe". Next rename your modding api exe to "Stardew Valley.exe". From there you need to go into your launch settings on steam for Stardew and put in some text that is found on the installation guide, that will launch smapi and allow achievements as well. Not sure if you did that already but i'll try and reply as i'm working on my own issue I can't get fixed atm ;-;
