Modding is good, in my opinion, because if there is something that you want to be added, removed, or changed, you don't have to beg ConcernedApe for it. He can have a break as he is a one-person developer, and he has a "team" on his side to edit the game and share what they made so that others can use it and not have to beg him for anything.

Agreed. Modding is one of the reasons The Sims was such a success, and why (imho) The Sims 4 still has such a strong base despite EA's abuse of DLC. I haven't modded Stardew yet because I want to experience the full measure of the original game first, but I like seeing videos about what other people are doing.

Yeah modding is absolutely great for communities to integrate their own ideas into the game, it’s nice that stardew has such a good foundation of modders as well the content looks near indistinguishable from vanilla in some cases

Yeah. Good mods have multiplied the playing content for SDV (without them I probably would have made a few playthroughs and then let it be). Also given the game variants for people who find some aspects of it hard or dislike them (easier fishing, time manipulation, vegan playstyle).

I do enjoy using mods even though I have no idea what I'm doing and end up crashing my whole computer bc not even Bill Gates himself could figure out what I've done to the thing despite the fact that using mods is fantastically easy and it might actually be more difficult to mess up an installation than to have everything go smoothly. After I started using mods I actually did get a lot more out of the game. It's what sets it apart from other games.
