Mining Exp

Does it give you mining exp if you blow the rocks up?
Yes, you get Mining XP from using Bombs so bomb away all those big ore or stone concentrations! You also get a little Mining XP from finding Ores when Panning but I so rarely do that it probably doesn't amount to much. Mining the various Gem nodes, Geode nodes, and higher quality Ore nodes get pretty good XP each.

Thank you so much! I'm playing with my friends and I'm kinda the need of the group. So they all go to me with questions. If I don't know the answer, I'll look at the wiki or here. Thank you so much. I can continue to be the need to ask about Stardew valley.

As @MogBeoulve said, it's pretty much high value crops. The best part of this is they also sell for the most
g and they return among the highest increases in value when put in
Kegs or
Preserves Jars. So by mid Year 2, I usually ramp up a farm of 100-180 sprinkled tiles of:

Spring:
Rhubarb or
Cauliflower
Summer:
Starfruit or
Melon
Fall:
Pumpkin

And grow and harvest those. You'll get 2 harvests per season and I shoot for getting Deluxe Speed Gro as soon as possible as that will get you 3 harvests per season for all 5 of those crops. Keg and Jar as many as possible and the Farming XP and
g come in pretty regularly.

Yes! Any rock that would give xp by being destroyed with a pickaxe will act the exact same if destroyed by an explosive, be that bombs, explosive ammo, or even the napalm ring

Rocks broken by dust sprites no longer give any mining xp though (since 1.6) so keep that in mind if you were somehow in the most niche situation ever that could even make use of that.
