Issue (Mac not steam) Cant play stardew valley after downloading SMAPI

I have a mac and Stardew Valley isnt on steam, after downloading SMAPI i can no longer open Stardew Valley before this error message pops up, i deleted and reinstalled both Stardew Valley and the SMAPI but nothing works.
And I have Stardew Valley ver 1.5.6 and the latest version (3.18.4) of SMAPI.

I don't know if it's the same on MAC, but on windows I need to make sure I'm running the SMAPI exe from this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley
Where ever your Stardew Valley game folder is located, the SMAPI exe needs to be inside that folder.
