My kids were playing on Switch 2 multiplayer and one of them placed the mushroom log with trees around it and produced 5 iridium star mushrooms. He put one of the mushrooms in the county fair grange on the 16th of Fall and then took it back and went to sleep with 5 in his inventory.
He loaded the save (the day after) recently and the mushrooms in his inventory from the previous day did not have any quality star markers on the mushroom at all.
