soooooooo.... little bit embarrassing, but I have never really been in the skull cavern. went in once or twice just to see what it was all about, but never further than floor 3....
What are your tips and tricks, is there anything I should watch out for? how difficult is it? I can make it through the quarry mines no problem, is it about the same? please help, I'm very lost

Hi! Skull Cavern is more difficult than the regular mine, but you can feel comfortable in it if you take care of your equipment, weapons, and food. Important note: Skull Cavern has no elevator, so you'll have to start from the first level each time.

First of all - have you already been to the Volcano Dungeon (on the Ginger Island)? If yes, then on level 10 there's a Forge where you can upgrade your weapons and rings. If you've been there, go and make yourself powerful weapons and rings. The positive effects will help you kill monsters faster.

After that, stock up on Staircases, food (for damage, speed, luck, mining), and health-restoring elixirs.

Take a Farm Warp Totem with you to quickly return home if you stay too long in the Cavern. A Desert Warp Totem will allow you to get to Skull Cavern without waiting for Pam (the bus driver).

And finally, choose days with high luck (check with the Fortune Teller on TV), and eat dishes that boost luck. Then there will be more ore veins and fewer monsters.

Good luck to you with exploring the Mines!

channel your inner Mad Bomber.

I don’t go to the Skull Cavern, without like 30 bombs. And if I’m trying for floor 100, I’ll bring 30 regular bombs, And 30 Big Bombs.

i don’t even try floor 100 until I have my farm basically built already, and money is just Piling Up. But it can be worth an earlier dive when money does still matter, on Good Luck days, to try to make to lvl 40 or so and rack up some Iridium Ore.

When asked bombs versus staircases, my response is, "Why not both?"

If you have combat mastery, it's worth equipping a good trinket.
