UPDATE: Lagging seems to have stopped entirely. I'm not sure exactly why, but I know some of the mods im using have updated recently, maybe solving this issue. Using Steam version, everything is fully updated.
I'm curious if anyone else has this problem? In local co-op, when one character moves from lets say the farm to the bus stop, or from the farm to the inside of the barn, the fps plummets and both players sides of the screen lags/freezes for about 2 seconds. This happens mostly on the farm, moving to and from the farm and all buildings on the farm. It doesn't typically happen in Pelican town or if we are both there, but if at least one player is on the farm and loading different areas, the other player receives that lag/freeze as well.
This lag does NOT happen in singleplayer mode on my file during any movement between areas.
I do use mods, but I've done my best to have compatible QoL and nothing crazy expansive. I've read each mod to try and find warnings of lag or other things but so far nothing. I've followed SMAPIs recommendations by removing mods that may cause issues but the lag is still there. I suspect it perhaps has to do with Content Patcher mods that load assets when moving between areas, and most of my new assets/textures are on the farm. But I dont know if that is the case and if it is, I wonder if there is a way to more smoothly integrate that so the lag isn't there as much.
Does anyone have this lag problem WITHOUT mods?
