Kids should grow older as the years progress

Once you have a child and settle with your hubby the game becomes slowly repetitive and inevitably want to restart but I think there's a lot of potential with having a kid. As years go by the kid should grow older and with that the kid should be a new character in itself, you can grow your relationship with them and new events will happen depending on how old they are and what relationship you have with them. Maybe your husband or wife would change their daily schedule to do stuff with the kid like take them to the park or the store, just random little events that might make the characters feel more alive.

I agree. I think it would be also nice if they grow up and move out, maybe send some letters. Imagine the main character could die and one of the childrens take over the farm with new people in town. Playing the game over 6 years just doesnt make sense because nothing changes.
