PC Items on ground disappear overnight on Ginger Island

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but items dropped on my farm on Ginger Island disappear overnight. This doesn't happen on my regular farm. So for example, I hoed up some iridium sprinklers but my inventory was full so they laid on the ground. Then I fell asleep before I could pick them up again. I have the hut built so when I went outside the next morning, I expected my sprinklers to still be there but they weren't.

Things placed on the ground, like chests and machines and placed sprinklers will stay... but if it is loose, not picked up, it should disappear both on GI and on the farm at home if left overnight.
