Right. I honestly think 1.4 and 1.5 should have been dlc but you gotta love CA wanting to perfect the game and not increasing the price (buy some merch to support him). He deserves to make a new game. Looking forward to see you guys on those forums as wellI wouldn't be mad if CA announced that stardew isnt getting more updates. I mean, he is a solo developer. Do you know how much time he has spent working on A GAME by himself? Instead, i would appreciate his dedication and let him enjoy some time off.
I do appreciate it and I'm shocked by it. I just still hope he'll keep updating it or come out with Stardew Valley 2. I love his work and CA has become something of a God to me. Since I sacrifice money on all console versions of this game. I just hope he gets, money for each copy sold.I wouldn't be mad if CA announced that stardew isnt getting more updates. While CA has said in the past that he's working on two new projects which may be related to Stardew in some way, they will be different enough that they won't be a sequel or directly connected to the story of Stardew Valley. Still something to look forward to though!I do appreciate it and I'm shocked by it. I just still hope he'll keep updating it or come out with Stardew Valley 2. I feel like the dev would be a little nuts to abandon it - despite the tireless work put in (which we all very much appreciate of course) - it's somewhat of a rarity for a game to be so popular, successful and beloved, across platforms and amidst different demographics. It's a bit of an anomaly that way.I'm curious if we'll see more updates like more farms? More crops? More marriage candidates? And maybe an easy mode? Or has the creator stopped working on us? I know it's early to ask it since newest update hasn't made phone but I'm curious if anyone knows.
Hopefully a DLC or two would keep it lively. 1.5 is a considerable DLC. Wish the other islands get opened up.I feel like the dev would be a little nuts to abandon it - despite the tireless work put in (which we all very much appreciate of course) - it's somewhat of a rarity for a game to be so popular, successful and beloved, across platforms and amidst different demographics. If I were the dev, I'd for sure be working on more updates and a second game, with smaller projects in between. I'm totally not foreign to being in a position of getting fatigued, burned out, etc. I've DEF been there with my own endeavours. But all the devs really have to do is continue to give the huge existing fanbase what they love and are so hungry for, and they could find ways to monetize within/around the games as well that wouldn't be upsetting to lovers of the game at all... seems like a community that wants to support the dev, since they love the game so much.
It would just seem like such a shame to walk away from a fan base that is so hungry for more. Imo, this game could be turned into a series that is as or more popular than animal crossing. And that game is huge. It's one thing if you have an indie game with a small but loyal fanbase, but when you have such a massive fanbase who are all signalling that they are not at all tiring of the world the devs have created (quite the contrary), it would be like quitting before hitting your peak, imho.
And I think it would pave the way for copycats to swoop in and try to snatch up the fanbase... just seems like such a ludicrous position to squander or abandon, ya know?
I think again, in a fantasy world where I am the dev, if I looked at the position I was in and my heart truly wasn't in all the craziness that goes with continuing the game/game series, I'd sell it to a big game company or something and stay on as a creative director, or something similar. Anyone else feel like Nintendo would swoop in and buy this one in a heartbeat??
I jusy wish they'd update 1.5 on mobile already!!!Hopefully a DLC or two would keep it lively. 1.5 is a considerable DLC. Wish the other islands get opened up.
It's worth keeping in mind that it's not CA who updates the mobile version, and it wasn't CA who created the board game either. I get that's it's frustrating to wait, but this isn't the first time that an update has taken a long time to be ported, 1.3 took a long time to arrive on Xbox and PS4, and I saw many people write it off as something that would never happen. But it eventually did, and I don't see any reason that 1.5 won't arrive one day on mobile too. The unfortunate thing is that sometimes there really isn't much to say about the process of porting a game. On top of that, although COVID restrictions are being relaxed in some places, I'm not sure if that's the case in the UK where the mobile porting team is based, and it's definitely possible that has had some impact on development time.It is incredibly sad that the beloved creator of this game worth 35 million dollars has sold out on upgrading the game for mobile players. 6 months have past since 1.5 upgrade came out, and CA has nothing to say to the tens of thousands mobile players about an upgrade. I have enjoyed this game greatly, but feel I have been kicked in the stomach by CA. His efforts to cash in on the game and create a useless board game, instead of providing an upgraded gaming experience, for ALL players, is very sad. I wish I had never spent my hard earned money on a game it’s creator refuses to upgrade for all players. I hope things get better for those willing to accept a lesser game than the rest of Stardew Valley gamers.
I played MTaP to completion recently and, as you said, it's a building and crafting game with farming being a minor component (which I almost entirely avoided). IMO one of the things that makes SDV work better than MTaP is that you need to use your imagination for the characters in SDV more than in MTaP because of the lack of 3D. MTaP is a low-poly 3D game which hurts realism in a game full of people, but the thing that could most have used improvement was the character representations as they were somewhat lacking in imagination, with the exception of Aadit. He was the only one who looked like he could have been an actual person instead of some caricature. Even Paulie was a little overdone though I liked him.Game My time at Portia often call 3D Stardew Valley . I think it's not a very right name , because MtaP is more simulator of ctafter than farmer . It would be really great , if CA made a real 3D Stardew Valley someday . If it possible of course . About new updates ... who kmows , but most likely there will be no more such big updates as 1.5 , I think . Good if I'm wrong . Anyway , without any questions any new update can't come out very soon .
I recently tried my time at portia, and really struggled keeping up with all the crafting missions. It seemed like a faster pace than I could go, I think I will have to play it a few times to understand everything better. Almost like a practice run before my main file. On the other hand, I loved playing Stardew Valley from the beginning.Game My time at Portia often call 3D Stardew Valley .
