I know on ps4 you can play split screen ... and you can invite more through the options menu .. Game may not be able to go online if the split screen account don't have a PS+ account ,,, Not sure about other consoles.. I don't know why it wouldn't be doable if all parties had online subscription (family nintendo membership/Xbox live)
